Istanbul is located in northwestern Turkey, straddling Europe and Asia. It is the largest city in Turkey and serves as the country's economic, cultural, and historic hub. It was known as Byzantium and later Constantinople, serving as the capital of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires. Its history spans thousands of years, and you can see this rich heritage in its architecture, museums, and historic sites, and also home to iconic landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the Grand Bazaar. The Hagia Sophia, in particular, is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning architecture and historical importance. Istanbul is a melting pot of cultures, blending influences from Europe and Asia. You can enjoy a diverse culinary scene, visit lively markets, and experience traditional Turkish music and dance performances. The Bosphorus Strait separates the European and Asian sides of Istanbul. Taking a Bosphorus cruise is a popular activity, offering breathtaking views of the city's skyline and historic waterfront mansions.

Cappadocia is located in central Turkey, in the region of Anatolia. It is famous for its unique landscape and historical significance. It is known for its surreal and otherworldly landscape, characterized by cone-shaped rock formations, fairy chimneys, and underground cities. These formations were created by volcanic activity and erosion. One of the most popular activities in Cappadocia is hot air ballooning. The region's stunning vistas, especially during sunrise, make it a bucket-list experience.  This UNESCO World Heritage site features ancient cave churches and monasteries carved into the soft volcanic rock. It's a fascinating glimpse into the region's history and culture. Cappadocia is home to several underground cities, such as Derinkuyu and Kaymakl?, which were used by early Christians as hiding places during times of persecution.

Both Istanbul and Cappadocia offer incredible experiences, but they are quite different. Istanbul immerses you in history, culture, and urban life, while Cappadocia transports you to a surreal natural landscape with a focus on outdoor activities and exploration.

The houses in the village are constructed around the nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city, which is one of the most interesting underground settlements in Cappadocia. We visit Pasabag’s “fairy chimneys”, where the voice of the wind harmonizes with the songs of the fairies. From here we pause at Avanos Center of terracotta art which is a popular destination because of its attractive old town with cobbled streets, views over the river, and its production of earthenware pottery, it is also the most economic activity in the town. The ceramic trade in this district and its countless pottery factories date right back to the Hittites, and the ceramic clay from the red silt of the K?z?l?rmak has always been used. A visit to the ceramic & tile center to see how the ceramics are made by hand. After lunch, we visited the famous Goreme Open Air Museum to see the best examples of Byzantine art in Cappadocia. People of Goreme, at the heart of the Cappadocia Region, realized that these soft rocks could be easily carved out to form houses, churches, and monasteries. These Christian sanctuaries contain many examples of Byzantine art from the post-iconoclastic period. These frescoes are a unique artistic achievement from this period. You visit a carpet cooperative, where you'll see how exquisite Turkish carpets are hand-woven.  We complete the tour with a panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia.
